Lip-Body
Lipoedema sufferers often exhibit typical physical changes, complaints and dissatisfaction with their own body image. We are also your point of contact for these areas.
LIPEDEMA ON THE ABDOMEN, CHIN, FACE AND BACK
Typical and atypical lipedema
Based on our many years of experience, we differentiate lipoedema into two main categories: typical and atypical lipoedema.
Typical lipoedema usually affects the extremities, hips and buttocks. It is characterized by a significant fat distribution disorder and pain as the main symptoms.
Atypical lipoedema, on the other hand, often affects women who are slim and have only slightly visible fat distribution disorders. These women are often wrongly misunderstood as they do not appear to be severely affected on the outside. However, many of them suffer from severe pain that goes beyond the usual level. In these cases, we speak of “atypical lipoedema”. Although visible changes in the fatty tissue are only slight or not recognizable at all, the pain characteristic of fatty tissue is still present.
Our many years of expertise allow us to make this distinction and treat our patients according to their individual needs.

ATYPICAL LIPEDEMA
Lipedema on the abdomen, back and face
We also refer to painful, non-typical lipoedema regions as atypical lipoedema, but we treat these regions according to the same strict LIPOLD quality criteria as all other regions. We also perform liposuction and tightening in these regions. Unfortunately, the costs are not covered by health insurance in these regions due to the lack of scientific evidence. However, our experience shows that for the majority of our patients, the pain reported before the operation is no longer present after the treatment.
LIPOSUCTION
Facial treatment – liposuction and bichectomy
Do you have painful facial areas or are you bothered by a round face shape? We regularly suction facial areas and perform bichectomies (facial narrowing). We carry out liposuction or cryolipolysis treatments for double chins. You can find more information about cryolipolysis at www.mybodyshaping.de
CHEEK NARROWING
Bichectomy
A round face shape (also known as hamster cheeks) is often caused by an enlarged Bichat’s fat body. Bichat’s fat body (Bichat’s fat plug or Bichat) is an encapsulated fat body in the cheek area directly under the cheekbone, between the chewing and cheek muscles. It varies in size and is usually oversized in people with a round, full face. We have a fat body on each side (right and left).
Treatment: The Bichat’s fat body can either be suctioned out or removed with a small incision. We perform the surgical removal (bichectomy) with a small incision from the mouth. The incision is approx. 2 cm long and is sutured at the end of the operation with 1-2 stitches that dissolve themselves. As the scar is in the mouth, there is no externally visible scar.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and the fat can be partially or completely removed as required. The operation is performed on an outpatient basis and takes around 30 minutes. To prevent swelling and bruising, we apply a compression bandage immediately after the operation. After the operation, you should take it easy for 2-5 days and sleep with your upper body slightly elevated. You should refrain from sport for 10 days.
The results of the operation are permanent and can be seen after about 2-3 months. We are happy to offer you an individual consultation and treatment.
