LIPOSUCTION - FIRST STEP
Preparation for liposuction
A comprehensive medical examination must be carried out before the procedure to ensure that you are suitable for the operation. It is important to temporarily stop taking certain medications and supplements that could increase the risk of bleeding. Smokers should stop smoking a few weeks before the procedure to aid healing. It is also advisable to organize a companion to support you on the day of the operation and to accompany you home. By preparing thoroughly, you can maximize the safety and success of liposuction.
LIPOSUCTION - SECOND STEP
Liposuction procedure
The liposuction procedure usually involves several steps in order to perform the procedure safely and effectively:
Anesthesia: Anesthesia is determined prior to the procedure. Depending on the extent of the liposuction and the individual circumstances, local anesthesia, twilight sleep or general anesthesia may be used.
Marking: Before the operation, the surgeon marks the areas to be treated on the body. These markings serve as guidelines during the procedure.
Liposuction: Small incisions are made in the skin and a thin cannula with a suction instrument, is inserted into the subcutaneous fatty tissue. Using targeted movements, excess fatty tissue is suctioned out and the body contour is shaped.
Wound closure: Once liposuction is complete, the small incisions are closed with fine sutures or special adhesive tape closures.
LIPOSUCTION - THIRD STEP
Aftercare
Aftercare: After liposuction, compression garments and bandages are applied to reduce swelling and support healing.
Recovery phase: The recovery phase can vary depending on the extent of the liposuction. In the first few days after the procedure, you should allow yourself sufficient rest and follow the instructions for caring for the treated areas.
Follow-up examinations: Regular follow-up visits are important to monitor the healing process and ensure that the results are satisfactory.
